can anyone one in the military in SD help me out? I'm hoping to use one of the bases auto hobby shops. when I was in the military I would frequently take advantage of the hobby shop on my base. I'm a veteran now and getting on base is a bit more difficult. I'm hoping someone one on here is active duty and wouldn't mind chaperoning me on base. I need to install a full lift kit on my 04 tacoma. I've done this sort of thing in my driveway before but would sure make it a lot easier to have a hydraulic lift.

There are a lot of TW members in the Socal/SD area, if you can't get access to the base then I'm sure there are some members around there that will help you out. There's an active regional forum on here for the Socal area, if you make a post in there you will probably get more local responses

There's a shit ton of people considering Camp Pendleton is in So Cal.

What issue are you having with getting on base? I'm a veteran but I can go on base anywhere in the country even to shop at the PX or what have you.

To be honest I've never tried to get on base since I got out in 2019. I looked it up and apparently I need some form of identification from the VA that I don't currently have. in my experience dealing with the VA takes forever. so in the interest of time I made this post.

Granted they'll check a persons background.

Ask for personal identification, as well as asking more than just the usual "DOB" or "social security number..." such as date of service, branch, rank, etc.
