U. S. Navy, ASCM(AW), Retired in 2000, 22 Years...

 

US Army Infantry, 2001-Present. Been doing the SMU/Agency thing since '12. Time to retire now though and move back out West.

 

I just got my first check for breathing last month. Being in the check of the month club is a pretty good gig.

 

Aeroscout Observer (93B). Flying around in Alpha/Chucks calling artillery and running radios! MOS deleted in 96. Became (25V) Combat Camera, last duty station was NTC Vulture Team. Back and knees gave out, Army went "DING!! Thanks for playing, you can keep the prizes and we'll see you later!"

Wow, after reading thru 14 pages on this thread, I have to say I'm impressed with the prior service Air Force Veterans. The Army is the largest branch followed by the Navy but over 60% of these posts are from Air Force Veterans. What am I missing here ?

Which reminds me, I witnessed a platoon of Marines a few years back conducting training. As they rounded a corner, an Airman was standing on top of a hill taunting the Marines. The Platoon Sergeant orders his 1st squad to take the hill. After the dust settled, 1st squad rolls down the hill all bloody, black and bruised. The Platoon Sergeant repeats his orders to 2nd squad and the same thing happens. The Platoon Sergeant then yells for 3rd and

4th squad to take that hill and whoop that Airman's ass. The dust settles again and the lone Marine from 4th squad crawls down the hill and says "Sarge, Sarge, don't go up that hill, it's an ambush" ! The Platoon Sergeant looks at him confused and says "what do you mean ambush" ? The young Marine says "there's two of em" !
