I have heard back from Bilstein US.
They will not warranty either product because both shocks/struts are RCD specific part numbers.
They provided me with RCD's number.
I don't think I am going to fight this one.

I did find a solution for my broken snap ring.
I found a stihl piston ring that could match up. I found a local dealer that had them in stock. I went over and it was a perfect match.
Got back in the shop, removed and disassembled the strut again.
Cleaned up the ring land that I was going to use and carefully installed the ring.
It did require a few spins to truly seat itself firmly.
I am confident this will be reliable but time will tell.

    Here are a few pics

Next up is passengers axle, both upper ball joints and piwer steering rack and bushings.

My $6.63 CAN closeout balljoints arrived today.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
RCD is easy. They work the RMA process with Bilstein, def worth the call. That snap ring should hold but I wouldn't trust it. Just do a swap from your donor while the bilsteins are being RMA'ed :notsure:

You are assuming I have one to swap from my donor. :(

It's the working non leaking rack from my parts Tacoma. Yes it's used but in better condition than the one on the truck atm.

And that's after I cleaned it. That looks good for being subjected to salt and snow!

Never heard of "my parts toyota". Looking them up now, they are in Valencia California right? Is this place like a dismantling online store or something? If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay and does it comes w/any warranties? I'm in a similar situation, looking for the best deal possible. Thanks.

Lol I know the company you are thinking of that parts out yotas, but he literally means another truck that's damaged beyond repair that he owns.

Shocks. Front Passenger Strut that I fixed up earlier.
    Who called it? You

While I was dismantleing to replace the axle and upper ball joint I happened to notice that the spring pirch was not sitting in there quite straight. So, I pulled the assembly out and carefully compressed the spring and disassembled it, and all those pieces fell out.
