The Taco has it's spot in the shop and is up on stands and ready to be improved.

I know. It goes so much faster on OverHaulin'. Chip's A-team can always get it done in an hour, WITH commercials!

:pccoffee: Just skimmed through a majority of your RE-build. I must say: Awesome job, sir! Much respect to your abilities and thoroughness. I think this is on par for a build of the year nomination for sure! Very detailed! Sub'd for future progress of the taco and the T4R.

Picked up a used Thule XSporter 500XT.
I've been wanting one of these for a while.
Going to clean it up and refurbish it. Some bits are broken so I've ordered replacements from Thule.

    - The rear brake biasing thingy has no bracket to base it changes on. I have the one off of the parts truck to put on.
    - Not sure why the ebrake cable is making contact with that flexible brake line.
    - I think I recall reading a comment from BoxRocket stating the leaf spring bolt contacting the gas tank. That is the case with my truck.

    Fuel Tank Removed.
The source of the leak is not aparent to me.
Fuel does collect on the ground.
It's all over the inside of the tank skid plate.
It's all over the bottom of the fuel tank.
The wet begins were the seam is for the top and bottom of the tank.

Passenger side front leaf bolt is loose and does not seem to be seized. I had it out last fall.
The drivers side however is seized and had to be cut. Did the outside, working on the inside now. Nice to have the fuel tank out of the way.

Old leaf springs and shocks out!
    Thats it for today folks.
    :headbang:

Nice note to anyone doing this.
Put you front jack stands under the engine if possible. Mine are not and the front of my truck started tipping forward when I removed the leafs as there was very little weight in the rear of the truck.

Cleaning up the replacement rear brake bias thingy. I'm going to keep calling that until some corrects me.

Cleaned up a bit and new fittings in place with silicone in the holes to keep crap out.

And next is a pic of the old one removed. Pretty poopy, mounting bracket completely missing. No wonder my rear brakes are doing nothing. Unless my understanding of this component is incorrect.

I'm going to redo the brake lines.
When I re-did my rear brakes the lines broke at the cylinders and I needed to come up with some length by straightening out some of the bends in the existing brake lines.
Many of the bolts broke off in the brackets on the third member when doing previous work so I'll be drilling them out so I can mount things as they were before.

I picked up this portable little abrasive blaster to clean up the rust spots on the body of the truck. I think I'll use it to clean up some spots on the frame and other parts that I can't get in the blasting cabinet.

I've aquired some left over product from toyota for priming the frame where it's rusting. Then, if I understand correctly, you can paint it afterwards.

Gave that primer a try. Put a couple of coats on spots I cleaned up.
You can also see the OME yellow frame bushings I put in.

I'm blasting the shackles to clean them up.
A picture of one after a cleaning with a wire brush and one after blasting.
