Talon57EE20A2-42EC-43F2-BB6A-A233802CADF1.jpgheard a friend’s story about chasing down would be cat thieves, almost getting run over them selves. It’s wild out there.

talon all the way. I installed one on a 4runner and liked it so much that I ordered one for my Tacoma. 1/4" aluminum matches up well with the trd pro skid. I feel like its a perfect solution for cat theft and light offroading or overlanding.

Got MillerCat on 4Runner, Tacoma, Prius, well written clear instruction for installation, perfect fitment, I got the aluminum version for lightweight. Easy install by 1 person.

I want this to be a hassle for the thieves, but not a hassle for me when I have to remove and reinstall for maintenance.

Nice looking. I was thinking the same thing about not needing the security bolts….obviously they provide an added level of safety, but the bigger deterrent is the shield itself. Is that why you say that you don’t really need the security bolts?
Also noticed that you said you have a TRD skid plate; any issues with the install because of that? I actually think the Talon looks easier to install than the Millercat, but you couldn’t go wrong with either one.

Aluminum or stainless steel put a floor jack under the shield with a rag on the jack bowl. Makes install and un-install easier for one person.

    Sorry for late reply...

The security bolts are a problem if they are over-torqued. Getting one of them off is a PITA right now.

As for the TRD Skid plate, I worked with the vendor to provide the proper spacers for both skids to mesh.

I think it worked out great matching up to the TRD Skid. I'm happy with the results.
