its great. i wish i can do that with my truck, as all of us. but life gets in the way and we have to get a bigger car or priorities change.

high milage is achieved by couriers. they put crazy miles on their cars. kind of wish i had a job as one.

i have 86k on my 2015 and am ok on keeping it for a while.....but the wife wants to sell it and buy a honda pilot for the baby. claiming she is cramped in the back with the car seat.

Understand about life somethimes gettng in the way. Your 2015 at 86K has low mileage with the possibility of going many, many more. My brother's wife had a 2009 Honda Pilot. That rig had plenty of room. When he started talking about getting her a new car, I offered him a $1000 over what the dealer was going to give him on trade in. After a few years he ended up getting her that new car, but sold the Pilot to his mechanic. When checking out new vehicles, he said that the new Pilot had a smaller interior that their 09. That being said, your truck may have as much or more that a new Pilot or most comparable rig.

I had a 2000 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 and started looking a a full size Dodge Quad Cab. The salesman told me that I actually had more back seat room in the Dakota compared to the full size. As this was before the mega cab, my Dakota did have more room in the back. So maybe there's some hope in keeping your 2015 Tacoma.

My 2008 only had 110k miles before I traded it for my 4Runner. Engine/drivetrain was still running as good as the day I bought it. Unfortunately, here in New England, the rest of the truck would have rusted away long before I even came close to 1 million miles.

I’ve noticed it was the 2.7 in the article. I wonder if it got the coolant bypass pipe replaced with the metal one, anyway that’s pretty awesome. I think the highest mileage 1gr I read about on Tacomaworld went 600k

    That’s the second 2.7 that’s done over 1M. I’ve never seen a 4.0 past 600k.

I think the other 2.7 you’re thinking about (if it’s the guy who hauls medicine for cancer patients) his original engine made it to 700k but he said he thinks all it needed was a head gasket)

Yeah he was a medical courier. Navy blue truck. I think he’s got 1.2 or 1.5M on that truck.

At my current pace, I'll need about 30 more years to achieve 600k and I might be dead by that time

I do maybe 10-11,000/year. I’m on the 82 year plan to hit 1M. I’d be 114 unless I start driving more.

I tell you what though if I was a courier and needed some room to haul boxes. That Ford Maverick with 42mpg pretty nice.
