I would like to buy one of these but I don't know crap about them, and when i look online there are a few different options to choose from on these 1/2" Impact Wrench , of course it will be for taking off tires or something on the tacoma so what's the most common one to choose or buy?

    Second this

I've had my 1/2" mid torque for some years now (1st Gen Fuel?)

Anyway it's been dropped countless times, rained on, in mud, in snow, and it still runs without issue

As suggested, the mid torque is perfect for lugs. I’ve got the high torque and it’s overkill. It’s big, heavy & unwieldy. On its lowest setting it’ll torque my lugs to about 90 lb-ft. It’s overkill but for $200 brand new in box I couldn’t say no.

3/8" is the 'drive size' - the square piece that comes out of the tool. The 1/2" drive square piece is larger than the 3/8". You would need an adapter to use either 3/8" sockets with a 1/2" impact tool or using 1/2" sockets with a 3/8" impact tool.

I gave most of my 3/8" sockets, etc. to my son and kept my 1/2" and 3/4" stuff.

3/8" drive should be more than adequate for your wishes. $201.95 including shipping and tax for the 2960-20 I just bought from eBay.
Brand new in a sealed box. Pretty sure it is 600 ft lbs of torque. The seller has a bunch if you do eBay.

Or, he could just watch the Milwaukee thread for deals and do the HD hack and save even more

Plenty of us have purchased a $250+ tool for about $100 because of it

Oh it's been a thing for years now

You buy a bundle, and as long as the bundle consists of items in separate boxes (with their own sku) you return the unwanted item/s for a partial refund

I have so many extra chargers just because I wanted a few batteries, and they came free in a bundle so I'd return the tool itself

Or sometimes I only wanted the tool and returned the batteries and charger

Last purchase was a Milwaukee Packout Light with 2 batteries and a charger; whole thing came out to under $140 so it was too cheap to even bother returning any part of the kit really but if I did, I would've paid only $70-80 for the light

The light itself sells for $150
