If you haven’t, might want to join & add these words (M18 Fuel, M12 Fuel etc..) on Deal Alerts via SlickDeals.
While not a M18 or M12 fuel tool, heres a deal on Packouts just as an example:
    https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/t/13547077

M18/M12 deals bound to come up in few days.

Home depot has some decent deals going now. Amazon does too every once in a while if you look at the right times.

Home Depot as mentioned earlier; they take care of veterans too.

I was able to score an M18 5AH battery for $53 from Amazon the other day, included Prime shipping too.

Check out a tool sales website called Tool Barn. They have occasional deals where certain tools are discounted better than Amazon, or will occasionally include a free lithium battery. They also have every possible configuration available incase you already have a charger, and all you want is the bare-tool.

If anyone wants some Metabo tools I can make some deals. They’re last gen tech but brand new in box with extra batteries.

Lots of hammer drills, some skill saws, and a small impact. Also have some wired Makita skill saws for $90.00 ea.

EDIT: Gauging interest to see if making a thread is worth it.

I worry about getting genuine batteries when buying from Amazon or eBay. There’s lots of fakes floating around.

On the other hand there’s also super cheap Chinese knockoff M18 batteries that may be halfway decent for the price.

Theres a bunch of decent tool only deals on Amazon is what I was referring to. Doesn't help the counterfeit problem though.

I personally wouldn’t buy aftermarket batteries.

One can pick up Milwaukee batteries for 30-40% off from Home Depot. During sale weeks (Labor day, Black Friday, Christmas etc...) Milwaukee will throw in free separate batteries with a tool purchase. Just take the tool and a battery to cash register and you’ll see how the battery price will turn to ZERO! Now on the receipt, you’ll see how the tool and battery have separate return $ value on it. Just go to the customer service and return the tool and get your refund and you’ll see how the remaining cost will be about 30-40% of what the battery would cost if it was bought alone. For example, few monthsi ago i picked up 2x M12 Fuel rocket LED lights with 2x M12 6.0 beefy batteries. Just returned the 2x M12 rocket LED lights and ended up paying around $60 for each 6.0 batteries instead of $100 each. Same can be seen with the small M12 2.0 batteries, M18 5.0 batteries. Setup alerts via SlickDeals and you’ll be good to when when these deals go live!

Home Despot has the vacuum for $30 off. My Husky liners would be clean for a change if I had this!

I bit on the deal at HD where if you get the starter kit (two 4ah batteries, charger and tool bag) you get a free tool. I got the kit and the vacuum for $169. The “kit” was $199 so I guess I got some extra discount.

I remember back in the day, depending on where you bought cordless tools, the quality varied. Think that's still true? I remember DeWalt drills with nylon gears from HD and Lowes.

Can't confirm, but from what I've heard, combo kits that seem like an amazing deal contain lesser quality tools than buying each tool on its own. No idea if that's true.

I've heard that, too- but they are tools. You get what you pay for and unfortunately, nothing lasts forever anymore (except my Milwaukee Sawzall from the 70s). Because I don't plan on them lasting more than a few years, I've found CPO Outlet (especially the refurbished) to be a great source. Going on three years on a refurb M18 drill for about $60. It owes me nothing.
