    General question.

Is there any benefit of using M12 battery over M18 with the same ah rating? Not including weight savings.

    It's more compact

Do yourself a favor and just get m18 if it's your first tool

Not bad if you will use all three. What I’ve noticed is usually at least one is a slow seller and batteries aren’t usually the higher output units.

I picked it up today. Comes with a 2.0 and 4.0 battery.

Shok Industries 2/0 big 4 upgrade and sound deadener.
I'll throw my 10 cents in.

The M12 drills/drivers we use at work on production lines and considering the abuse they receive (because they don't own it so who cares if it gets dropped 15 times a day?) they last incredibly well. They usually die when the stator magnets break off and jam the commutator.

Personally I use a standard M18 drill and driver at work. The driver is insanely strong, to the point that I'll snap off socket adapters or 8mm bolts if I keep it on 3. The drill is a hand me down from an older tech and is starting to get finicky especially when boring >3/4" holes with a unibit.

At home I only have an M12 3/8" ratchet was a dream to have when I replaced the idler on my truck. I'd love to get into the Milwaukee M18 family but can't discard my Dewalt drill and driver that I picked up several years ago for a screaming 'open box' price. The pace of Milwaukee innovation seems to far surpass that of many other brands. Saw they have a "pack out" compatible light with 3 swivel head lights and a storage cubby + the tower lights in M12 and M18 that they've had for awhile. Dewalt JUST came out with a tower light I think.

I do have the Milwaukee box from 2 years ago that I love except for the main socket drawer. I busted my ass to try and get new slides in to prevent it from shifting when opening and closing but to no avail. Surprise surprise, they fixed that on the new boxes they put out last year. When I got mine for $1000 top and bottom and the new ones were close to that per piece I couldn't justify it.

I went with all M12 hand tools (Impact Driver, Drill, Jug Saw, Oscillating Tool, etc.). I'm using them in my carpentry job, so they don't see constant use like in in a high use industrial setting. The weight factor of M12 is huge for me. I worked on a deck this summer and another guy working had an M18 impact driver and I had my M12 Fuel. My battery lasted all day and he had to change out once. I noticed no significant difference in speed/performance. Just my 2 cents.

I have many pictures like that (without the mountains) from the boundary waters area in Minnesota/Canada.

On foot as the pond is only accessed via a narrow trail. The canoe is stashed on the shoreline. Canoe was dragged in during winter.

Are the CP 3.0 battery worth it? Home Depot had it on sale for $99. While the 2 pack of HO 3.0 was $129.

I was going to buy the XC 5.0 but out of stock. Stupid website count was way off.

    M18.

I'm planning on using them with drills, impact, LED light. Next tool purchase is impact wrench, then sawzall.

Yep, if you are talking the M18, the 3.0 are definitely worth having for me. They offer good performance in all tools in a small package. Even the sawzall and circ. Saw, big impacts. Just lack the runtime of the 6.0 or higher HO batteries. You get about the same output as you do with the 4 or 5

    Home projects.

Impact wrench is for removing lugs or stubborn bolts.
