With the M18, 6.0 ah, the HO is 2.30 lbs and the regular XC is 1.60 lbs.

Can you feel the difference in weight if using the tool for hours?

Can I use the standard charger while charging the HO battery?

Can the rapid charger be use to charge the smaller battery pack, without heat becoming a issue?

I know you weren't asking me but I can give you some input. I have charged regular 5.0 XCs on the rapid charger and the big 12.0 on a regular charger without any issues. Also as far as weight you can definitely feel the difference in battery sizes. I have the 12.0 8.0 5.0 and 2.0 and you can definitely feel the difference between them especially if you're working over your head.

By reading, I'm guessing the stationary tools takes the larger battery pack.

Anything is going to be better than my 1 or 1.5 ah battery in runtime.

Any charger will work, just takes longer. Think all my standard chargers are in a box in the garage now.

I don’t use 6.0 in my drills or nailers. Usually the little 2.0 or 3.0 in nailers, and still using mostly the older 5.0 in drills. I believe its weight comes in between the 2 6.0 batteries, so I would have no hesitation to use either one in place of the 5.0 I use now. My impact just feels so nice with a 3.0, I opt for that if from time to time. And they charge faster than I can run them down, so 2 of those work well. As mentioned above, working above your head, lighter is noticeable. If you are only looking between the 2 6.0 options, I’d get the HO as they’ll be more versatile

Have you charged the small CP battery in the rapid charger?

I've used a cordless Dewalt drill for sheetrocking. Going from a small battery to a much larger battery I can definitely feel the weight different. Shoulder were sore for days.

Love my Milwaukee tools. Have more on the way, but they've been dependable. No issues with any of mine...

I've been building a bumper for my GX470 and I will admit that the M18 grinder absolutely eats batteries. I have a couple cheap HF plug in grinders that I've used more so that I'm not constantly changing/charging batteries.

That's actually the one battery I haven't charged on the rapid charger. You had me curious so I just looked it up and read the description and it says it works with any and all batteries so that makes me feel better.

For the drill, should I pick up the 3.0 ah battery? The 1.0 or 1.5 ah battery (not sure which one I have) doesn't last long til the next charge.

I figured I'll ask. Lithium cells in battery pack doesn't like heat.

You could, I just got them this year. Before that I always had the 5.0 in the impact and drill/driver, and still do. I just found the 3.0 is nice in the impact and had enough runtime. I never had the 4.0, and 6 didn’t seem enough a step from 5 to bother getting. Although in the 6.0 HO proves to be good in the 7 1/4 or sawzall, I might pick up a couple.

I was originally looking at the 5.0 but figure the 6.0 was close to weight with slightly more power, run time.

I can't find a 2 battery combination kit. Something like a 3.0 and 6.0. The only one available at Home Depot 6.0 and 8.0 combo doesn't allowed to be ship to this area.

I'm don't want to regret that I should of got higher ah rating.

Yea, tool with battery deals are usually the best way to pick up batteries. But if you aren’t in the market for tools, they did have some good battery deals this year. The 2 3.0’s for 129 is a pretty good deal, but if you need bigger batteries you might just need to be on the lookout for deals. Or find a tool you want that comes with a good battery

I wasn't looking at the 3.0 battery but you and Larry Dangerfield, made a good point about weight.

There always next Milwaukee holiday sale.

You bet. And Home Depot has them from time to time all year. Online they’ll have a battery or tool at regular price, and a + battery or bare tool. They can be really good deals.
