Fuses are unlikely the cause, but it doesnt hurt.

Usually with older 2016 models, its the wiring harness or the modules in the rear that cause this.

Ultimately you need a scan tool capable of reading BSM modules. And its a bit abstract for anything aside from dealer as far as I know.

@TnShooter Can you look up tsbs for 2016 BSM usa spec?

Ugh: If I screwed up and somehow didn't notice something like this :facepalm:when I purchased the truck, I'd go on an immediate insane mission to return it to complete stock. I don't trust homemade or otherwise electrical modifications to anything on a vehicle. They are a sleeping Giant/Gremlin waiting to wake up at the worst possible time and strand you in the worst possible place.

Northwest Aroostook County, Maine comes to mind.

I hear ya.. TBH, the genesis system does cause me some concern. I will likely do some research and either revert back to a 1 battery system, or figure out how to modify it to my liking. But, I'm not really an electrical guy, so my concern is annoying. haha

I wish you only the best outcome. I have a suspected remote-start add-on in my truck. GPS black box too. I discovered it about a year after I bought it: no key fob gizmo came with it. It looks like a pro install, smells like a pro install, and it hasn't raised a problem since 7/2021 when I got it. It bugs me big time regardless anyways. I'm convinced if I mess with it, spy's will come swooping in and lift it out of the woods with a huge helicopter.

The ghosts tell me to "leave it alone: it has been two and a half years..." I hate it anyways: I go fly-fishing in stupid remote places and those wires whisper to me.

Sorry, don't mean to laugh... but anybody that seriously off roads or try to get to a special camp site/s. We all worry what code the the truck is going to throw.
I have been watching a YouTube series called "cartrek" and.... well, well it has definitely lowered my expectations. :bananadance:

I looked at the diagrams for bit.
I didn’t spend too long looking at them.
But I didn’t see anything obvious shared between the 2.
There were a few things shared, but I’d suspect much more would be wrong if it were those.
Mainly the EFI No2 relay and some other fuses.

I’d start with the washer motor.
Is the “simplest” to work with.

No worries: Laughter is the best medicine. Up in the big woods, the owls always seem to gather in the trees at my campsite... Jeeze-Louise what a racket they make. I look up and see them hiking during they day. I think they sit on my tent poles at night sometimes. I consider them friends: I think they're scareing things off sometimes. My Dad taught me this when I was little: "Don't worry about Owls: everything else but us they don't like. They are a good alarm system and no one messes with them: go to sleep."

can always post pictures of the install in the a/v section here, or i'm usually down in the hillsburro area once a year for the covered bridge fest-- could make a drive up to have someone more electrically-inclined look at it if you wanted, though the festival just ended.

Roger that, and thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will probably have some time this weekend to fiddle around with it some more so I'll update this thread later if I find anything..
