So, I'm looking at mini splits for my basement for heat, just a single zone around 12k BTU. All of the above seem to operate close to 100% efficient down around 5 degrees F - or whatever that is in C. I hate dealing with contractors, the ones that sell Daikin say the other 2 are nothing but problems and the Fujitsu guys have a similar story about the other 2. They all look decent and have been around for a long time but I hate second guessing myself. I figure if they are all comparable I'll go with the most reasonable priced as long as the installer is reputable. Anyone have any issues or good experiences with the brands above?

Many brands are made in the same factories. Have seen good results with cooper-hunter, they have multiple choices and options. Some minis are heat pumps, others are not. They are very efficient and quiet. They are easy to install if your handy, and you can do most of it, even if you have limited tools and skills.

I was thinking of doing the install but I have 2 small kids so it will take months to complete.

I have a Mitsubishi and have had no issues. Installer whom I trust tells me getting repair parts for any other brand can be very difficult.

Daikin is what I’ve had for over a year now. No issues whatsoever and the install took two days in my home. The energy savings is insane with these things. $75-90 a month for power as conventional was $250-300 a month. Go for it!
