MINI VCI and Techstream

So I bought the MINI VCI Techsream from Amazon for $20 bucks mainly because I was curious how well it works. I use techstream at work so I was curious how well this "version" works. Everything worked really well but I can't display the live data from engine and ect. It tries to connect but comes back with an error code. It will connect with all the other modules and do bidirectional tasks. Anyone have the same issue? I'm running it on my old laptop with XP.
