I think option at purchase would be best- save you money and keeps the customer from throwing away good material or tossing it in a drawer that will never see the light. I mean when we buy we know if we drink or not and if you drink that you’d be using it.

Vote for saving the material, saving on cost

Also what colors are in the renderings? The one grayish in the middle and the far right (is that a flat black?). I think I’d personally get a black or flat black preferably over my color match mgm

Looks great! I like the idea of an embedded magnet (as long is it doesn't mess with the signal). I like the idea of stashing the key when on hikes or bike rides.

I'll have to see where I could put one. This shell is already as thinned out in every corner (1.5MM thick) there might not be a spot anywhere for a magnet..

Some of these degenerates would be happy with any kind of beer you offered.

I was fixing to curse you for your assumptions about TW members... then I realized that a flat beer doesn't sound too bad right now. I must be one of the degenerates

I'd have to look at my FOB circuit card, but it's not worth growing the size for a magnet. Just a nice to have if there a spot to sneak it in.

If magnets are really your thing,, I’d suggest a slim square or rectangle magnet. It would sit in the recessed window on the back of the remote. Wonder how the would do in your pocket though ... sticking to all the keyrings

That magnet looks great. The best thing of being minimalist is no key ring!
If you do use a key ring, a strike plate could be added to the FOB and you can put the magnet on your frame ( or where ever you want to hide the key).

Hold up now. If you stashed a key with a magnet under the truck ...couldn't anyone come along and start your truck up and drive off??? Am I missing something here?

Yep! If they knew where I hid it, they could easily steal it. Hide-a-keys are fairly common.
