Confirmed the cutting and programing does add cost. However, try your local locksmith guys. My local guy will cut and program 1-5 keys (might be 1-4 it has been a while), blank provided for about $50 total, no blank is his material cost (new fob and/or blank) +$50.

A few years bank my daughter tried to get a 2nd key for a used car, that dealership wanted $150 just for the blank and as I recall it was another $100 to program. We got 2 blank and unporgramed keys online for like 25, and the locksmith cut and programed both for $50.

So by all means when you go to cut and program try a locksmith, not a box store, or a dealership it could save you a good amount of suffering and cash.

The more I look at it, the more I'm leaning towards a flip key. But I'll probably end up buying both since everything @MESO makes is awesome

I went with this too, even though the truck is white. It's such a clean combo!

I really love the flip key, do you think it would be possible to square off the top a little more to keep with the minimalist/pmag look? Either way I love it.

@MESO For the next round of fob colors, any thoughts about doing a clear (see-through) one? Even possible?

    That’s a possibility
X2. Stealerships aren’t the only ones that can program/cut a key. Most local locksmiths have all the tools and computers to program most OEM fobs. Some are even mobile and will come on site. Either way, they are much cheaper than the dealer.

I know someone who cut those transponders out already. He made an awesome video.

I also know the same guy can't wait for this.

Cutting the transponder out and swapping it over is definitely an option. (And the cheapest one).
But some people don’t feel comfortable cutting/hacking up the OEM fob, so I am going to have an option that you can add a stock uncut key and transponder so all you do is just swap the electronic board and just have it programmed/cut.

I'm digging the new standard key options @MESO!
I'd probably order one of each. A switchblade to carry around and a stickout for my spare key.
