There is a rubber piece and I believe that fob pushes against that. But I guess there's nothing around the buttons like you said.

Awesome! At most it would get covered in snow and get a bit wet, but if it can take a garden hose I'm sure it will be fine lol.

I believe that rubber is there just for contact points. If you press a plastic button down without it on the board, the circuit will wear incredibly fast. I'm sure it holds minimal water back, but I wouldn't submerge it.

Looks like they're surface mount tactile switches.

You talking about my chakra membrane? Don't be questioning my chakras. They're fully aligned.

Well shoot, I still don't see the "membrane" as any kind of moisture barrier though.

Or at least not a very substantial one.

I think it's work pretty good. The back case is seamless, then membrane on top, seems like it'd do okay.

So the stock membrane has a "o ring" around the perimeter. The inside of my fob has a lip that presses down on this to create a nice seal.
    Here's some better pics

BTW I have had some questions about color matching. Obviously it's hard to match paint VS plastic (especially metallic.s) but I tired really hard to get the color as close to OEM.

Ah I see it now. I never opened it up yet but other fobs in the passed that I have opened were never quite as sealed as this one looks. Thanks for the pics.

I sold mine just before. I can tell you that the minimalist is a bit higher but is about a 1/4” less wide
