So, kinda a odd request, but is there space inside the key that a neodymium magnet could be placed? Asking because it would be kinda nice to have this key be able to stick to metal (underside of truck, hidden behind frame rail, ect) for when you drive somewhere, but are going someplace that can ruin your key fob (tubing, swimming, scuba, whatever).

Yes, I'm well aware of Brand X. Although there may be some visual similarities, my design goal has a totally different approach. Not trying to copy anyone, but rather come up with my own solution with different integrated features:D

You mentioned you're using metal instead instead of plastic, maybe some waterproofing too jejeje

Metal, waterproof, and a magnet in the back so you can stick it somewhere under your truck when you go do some outdoor stuff where you can lose your key. Or, if you have a metal door at your house like me you can stick it on there...or on the fridge etc.

Shouldn’t have an issue because it uses the same silicone rubber cover from the original fob. It gets sandwiched together down in a lip so I don’t anticipate any water intrusion. Obviously it’s “water resistant” not submersible proof

This also shows you just how small it is, with only ~1/16” around the PCB board. As small as I could make it.

Really dig the idea - I'd be interested. Plastic fobs are not reflective of the Tacoma product, in my view.

There shouldn't be concern over the development of the MESO fob, as it is not a copy of a separate brand. In fact, this is exactly what helps with innovation in any market: competition. My .02 anyway.

    Keep the ideas coming Stew!
