can anyone give me the actual minimum height a bed rack needs to be to clear a Softopper on a 3rd gen? I know All Pro builds the 19” to clear, but I’m curious if it could be a little lower and not cause any rubbing issues. Any help is appreciated.

the soft topper needs room to fold so the rack to clear them needs to be a little higher. There are a few threads on here about internal racks that clear the soft topper frame work

I’m not planning on folding mine. All I’ll ever do is roll up the sides. I just need to know what clearance it needs when set up. I’ve searched and can’t find an answer on the 3rd gens.

I think every truck will be slightly different. The STs have a small bit of adjustment up and down. Some models also tend to sit lower than others as well, just a small variation in the manufacturing process maybe.

Your best bet would be to measure yours. I'm actually thinking of having a local guy make something for my 2nd gen.
