How about a minimum post level and/or membership time requirement for posting in the marketplace?

Just noticed a 1-post May-2012 posting a link to his seat covers on Craigslist

No price, no photos... obviously didn't read the rules.

We've got a bit of a "brotherhood" and it's nice to feel that when we're dealing with someone in BST that we are dealing with a member of the community.

Most forums do have minimums, even for buying.

Overall, I like the idea... I also hate it though when I want to buy something and browse a site in order to see if something I want is for sale and can't even look until I have enough posts or something similar. It's a fine dance

Absolutely allow browsing by all (ya, some forums even limit that)... and I'm not THAT hot on limiting responses by newbies, most newbies don't come in with the intent to scam sellers... it's the sellers that are often the scammers, or more common, just someone with a CL or eBay post who plasters the link on every forum he can find.

Ya... it's a fine line. Like a seat covers, they're nice, but even the CL posting is WAY too wordy... gotta dig for the price.
OTOH, they could be just what someone is looking for, and someone in LA is not going to be poking around a Miami CL.
