Mines an automatic OR- and traction control won’t let me feather the throttle and stay in drive while reversing on a hill. That sucks, especially if you are just trying to go back a little bit to get a running start over a step or slippery part.

that would make the minimum -15mph. considering the truck locks out anything faster in reverse...

probably no coincidence, this friend's car was actually one of those fiberglass hot tub buggies with a VW engine and transmission in the rear. It was pretty fun, that stupid thing would go anywhere with the wonky ass mud tires he had on it. Good thing we were never in a multi vehicle crash, or we probably wouldn't be here.

I would never drive in 4Hi on the main dry roads unless they are covered with snow and even at that I would keep under 60 mph to be safe. As for 4lo I would not go over 10 mph and for short distances only. If you red line your engine then you know damage will happen. Common sense.

I’ve definitely driven over 10mph in 4lo. You just gotta get up there in your gears, not redlined

Yes, as long as you don't red line the engine is what I am saying.

~30 mph is just fine in 6th low. I do it all the time on connecting trails. I think redline is like maybe 50+ mph depending on transmission, diff gears, and tire diameter.

I’ve been in 2lo for a while in some steep, narrow and twisties where that torque was nice, found myself in 4th pretty quick.

For kicks and giggles I calculated the max speed in 6th low with the 6mt and stock gears and tires.

    redline: 6000 rpm
    diff ratio: 4.3
    transfer case ratio: 2.57
    6th gear ratio: 0.71
    tire diameter: 30.6 in

    6000 rpm * 60 min/hour * 30.6 in * 3.14 / 12 in/ft / 5280 ft/mi / (4.3 * 0.71 * 2.57) = 70 mph

lol. i paid for the whole rev range, i'm gonna use it!

redlining the motor in 1st/2nd won't top 50mph...
