never heard of one…..why do you ask?
The op’s truck was damaged due to the aftermarket receiver hitch.

the lower hanging hitch defiantly is going to add leverage and increase damages. I know there are some that rarely use the hitch for it's intended purpose, and think it is protecting or punishing others that cause rear fear, but it's more than likely only adding to your problems. Aside from warding off the urban malcontents that are deliberately bumping vehicles in front of them, in an effort to escape one stolen vehicle, to take the next, by getting the occupants out. The latter is on the rise again, so be careful.

I had the same thing happen to my 2004 Tacoma 4 dr, TRD. A bus pushed a guy into my truck, while my son was driving it. Besides the "after market" hitch being bent down, it didn't look that bad. Once it got to the shop, they discovered the frame bent, right in front of the front rear springs. Instead of totaling it, my insurance co (AAA) had the shop find a new frame for it and did a frame restoration. I had the truck for many years, and no problems, until I went to trade it in. The Toyota Dealership gave me about $2,000 less than what it would have been worth without the accident. But I got them to come down from $39K to $35K on a new 2015 Highlander (November 2015). So I figured I did okay.

Is anything out of alignment? I'm guessing they don't want to replace a frame just because there is a bend in it. However, if that bend effects the alignment of the bumper, bed, axle, etc. then they have to replace because you cannot bend it back.

it is also compromise the safety of the vehicle. Primarily the cripple zone has been compromised. Another hard rear end hit could be drastically worse

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Bus pushed truck into the back huh. This reminded me of the time I told my dad that my truck was backed into when I was at work and it pushed the bumper into the bed and crumpled it. He brought it up now 27 years later a while back. Someone got hit in a parking lot. And he was like "yeah that happened to Jay one time. Pushed the bumper back into the bed. I got it fixed for his birthday." I looked at him confused and was like "Oh, no dad. I actually didn't look in my mirror and slammed into a Coke trailer when it was delivering at the local Go-Co when I was grabbing lunch. I forgot I lied about that but thanks for fixing my truck." I laughed and my dad was like, well never mind. LOL. Good times.
Now my son is 15 and I'm like. Shit, this is how this feels I guess. I believe nothing he tells me. EVER!

LOL... At least I knew that that is what happened, since it hit the local news. That bus totaled 4 other vehicles. The kid that was pushed into the back of my truck, probably got it the worse. :(

Happened to my 2016 TRD Sport. Got rear ended at a red light by a Mustang... damage didn't look bad. Shop said the frame was bent. His insurance co totalled it and then I got a check for a few thousand dollars more than it was worth. I was thrilled and then went and bought a new OffRoad 4x4 Tacoma.
