I have a question for the manual 2nds gens I currently have a 2013 with about 110k iam the original owner. I never really got Paranoid of my voltage when looking at my scangauge. I recently changed my alternator cause I was having random voltage drop. also due to mileage, wear and tear from offroading throughout the years it's time to change it. But I still noticed when I drive around voltage is usually 13.6 to 14.0. When I go to complete stops I noticed sometimes my voltage would drop to 12.6-12.7. This is even after changing my alternator. Is this a normal manual thing I just starting noticing or should I look less at the scan gauge lol. next thing I was going to do is clean my throttle body and see what that does.
Thanks guys to whoever took time to read my issue

Let me add it would go to 12.6‐12.7v for a like 1 second or maybe 2 very randomly and not every stop

My 14 runs anywhere from 13.2 to 13.8 depending on temperature, it shouldn't drop below about 12.8.
Have you checked it at the battery?

Spec is 13.2-14.8V for the voltage regulator.

I would check all the wiring connections between alternator and battery and all main grounds especially between engine and battery and chassis. You probably have some corrosion.

Also, is it a new OEM alternator or aftermarket? Also how old is the battery? Are you sure it's good? Can you load test it?

12.6-12.7 is awful low with the engine running.

Check the battery voltage with a multimeter, compare to what your scan gauge says, just to rule out an incorrect reading.

The connection between the battery terminals and posts should be good, acid free, no oxidized posts. If the terminals are caked with acid, pull the battery out, stick a couple little containers there to dunk them in coke a cola. Amazing how good it works. Brush the terminals and posts with a battery brush. Then do your load test.

Noco makes some good corrosion prevention felt pads, $.97 from Amazon for a pair.

Are you running any crazy loads like a bunch of amplifiers or light bars?

This is a chart I use to evaluate a battery. A car battery has 6 cells so 2.16 x 6 = 12.96 static voltage, not running.

If you have an AGM battery and aren't using the voltage booster, you're not doing your battery any help. My battery charges at 14.4-14.5v with the engine running

I wouldn't worry about it. Your previous alternator did the same thing.

    I do have a booster
Yes I have a booster. I just tightened and snugged a few connections on the positive side of my battery. They weren't really loose but might help. Yea my minor issue is I would notice sometimes my volts read on my scangauge 12.7 or 13.0 when I come to a stop for like 1 second then go back up to 13.6-8. It doesn't do this at every stop just very few random stops

Does the drop coincide with the AC compressor kicking on?
