Op, the flag is meant to be displayed backwards as to represent the flag going into battle.

When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window it should be displayed in the same way, that is with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street. When festoons, rosettes or drapings are desired, bunting of blue, white and red should be used, but never the flag.

 

No it is not. That is not a proper way to display the flag when not flown from a staff.

LOL, I haven't seen those in awhile! I used to see those and the chicken stickers/magnets on the old beater trucks all the time cruising around LA. LOL

 

This is the proper way to display the flag on the passenger side of vehicle.

The flag should always portray the US assaulting fowards.

The OP's passenger side flag demostrates the US retreating.

I live in a huge military town (San Diego) and EVERY cop car and military vehicle has the flag backwards as if its flying in the wind. So if you're right then you better correct all the Navy, Marines and Police that are doing it wrong lol.

 

I know have another set ordered, wasn't really paying attention til after I put them on, lol
