The mirror switch in my wife's '19 Corolla looks the same physically as the switch in my rig, except that it illuminates blue. Been meaning to see if it would work.

If you decide to check it the fit and to see if the mirrors work please let us know. Hopefully it would be plug-n-play

I know that part numbers often change, so that PN from the dealer could be a new one. If you have a dealer nearby, I'd go or call them and hopefully you'll get a competent person. Again what I did was to compare the back of the switch(es). Seems like I ask the seller to send me a picture of back of the switch. To pull your switch and take it with you for comparison should be easy enough.

I'll see what I can find on ebay and check on the PN you provided.

Ok you motivated me to check.

'19 Corolla on the left, '15 Tacoma on the right.

Unfortunately that's where the similarities end. Completely different electrical connections. I was hopeful as the Corolla switch has a nice blue illumination which I was prepared to wire up separately if necessary. But she's a no-go.

Will have to look at the wiring harness adapter for the Prius to see if that will do the trick. Thanks for the post and pictures.

After a little searching on the innerweb, it seems that the Prius 4 is the upper level (equipped) model. From there I search for a outside mirror switch for this model and came up with a lot of options. Before I put any links down, I'm going to post a few pictures showing the difference between my 07 and the correct Prius switch.

First my 07, then the correct Prius switch (picture from post 24 of this thread). Next will be a switch from an ebay listing that is no longer available. I put the link to this listing because it shows the PN for the switch.

If you scroll down on the ebay link to items specifics it will show the part number

Here's a link from a dealer, but the cost is $$$.

    Hope this helps!

@Plain Jane Taco, thanks for braving the cold and checking. Like you, I would much rather have the Blue Light illumination. It was hard to tell from the pictures, but do both of the same number of pins. I can see the pocket for the connector is different, wonder if the harness would still plug in, just would be a loose fit?

@BlkDakDave, thank you for the info, I don’t mind spending the $113.00 for the switch if it would work. Am interested if the one that @Plain Jane Taco mentioned for the 2019 Corolla would work as it has the Blue illumination. Thoughts?

this is the adapter harness that is used? Correct?

If you expand the picture you can see the the pins are physically different and the offset isn't the same.

    @TRDProBuddy

It's worth noting that the 11th gen Corolla ran from '14-'19. So that blue illumination was certainly used for more than just the '19 MY. There was a minor tweak in '17...mostly cosmetic. So it's possible that switch was used throughout the run, but I would say with near certainty that '17-'19 at the least are the same.

Looks like I might just stick with one from the Prius as it is plug and play and has been successful in replacing the original non illuminated one. Though it green back light.

just have to locate the correct version

@BlkDakDave, @JAGCanada, so I received my adapter harness, along with my Mirror Switch from a Prius (Green Illumination) and I also bought the one from the 2019 Corolla that was mentioned by @Plain Jane Taco that supposed to have a Blue Illumination. Got them all from eBay and it seems the adapter harness plugs into both switches as far as I can tell. I have not verified that either switch works yet. Just wanted to get some clarification on what I need to do with the 2 illumination wires on the adapter harness to only have the back light come on when I turn on the lights.

    Capture1.jpg

Here are some pictures of the 2 switches from the Prius and Corolla.

Image of back of the 2 switches, Even the the connector openings are different in shape, the adapter harness still fits in both

To be upfront, I got lazy and did not wire my mirror control switch to light up only when I turn the lights on. The switch in my truck lights up as soon the key is turned to ignition.

However if you check out post #22 and my post #32 they may help clarify your questions. Yes, you will need to "splice in" or add two additional wires where you indicated on your photo. On the photo below yours, you will see a picture from my post #32. The two lime green lines represent the two "sliced in" or additional wires. In post #22 it indicates where those two additional "spliced in" wires need to go.

So I am a bit confused now, if you look at posts 31 & 33 from @60centenergy, they mentioned wrapping the 2 wires coming from the connector that plugs into the factory harness in tape. This is how I thought they were describing it. Sorry for the hack job of a photo.

Yes, I can see where this can be (and now to me) confusing. I interpreted it as splicing into the wires, but reading 33 it seems as the two wires plugging into the factory harness are cut and the ends are sealed.

Maybe @60centenergy can chime in to help out.
