Sooooo I may have not looked into this all the way like I should have. That being said I bought turn signal lights for my mirrors and tried to install them. They do not fit, I am wondering if there is something else I can buy to make it fit. I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma SR so it doesn't come with mirror lights already so maybe this wont even be possible for me to do. I bought YotaLEDs mirror lights by the way.

Interesting. I've never seen someone install mirror signals on an SR or SR5. If I had to guess, the whole mirror assembly is probably different than the mirrors you'd see on a TRD or Limited.

The wiring should be easy, just run the wires to the mirrors and tap them to the rear turn signals in the fuse box under the hood. Getting the right mirrors is the tough part.

You can buy the housing from RockAuto. They’re pretty cheap, would have to get the covers painted though.

As for the electrical, you’ll need to tap the front or rear turn signal for them to work, which I’d think is pretty easy.

On an SR/SR5 you wouldn’t want to tap the front turns. Rears only.

Unpainted mirror caps look cool, if it bothers you, get them wrapped gloss black because that would look pretty cool

DRLs in turn signals would look kinda wack ngl. It's probably illegal, especially in Virginia.

I love this forum for this reason exactly. Well I don't think I am going to move forward with this. I have also learned to better read what I am going to do in ADVANCED!

You could run an always on (DRL) amber light in CA all you want, if you can do it in CA, I doubt it'd be a problem somewhere else. Always on, blinking "off" for signal might be kind of cool, depending on the look you're going for.
