mirror USB connection in center console?

I, uh, am not a wiring guy but I want to mirror the USB connection that is on my lower dash and have it inside the center console. That way I could plug my old skool iPod in and leave it for years happily listening to my music that I haven't bothered to copy off the iPod onto a flash drive.

Also, was thinking could put a bigger flash drive in the center console instead.

Anyone have any thoughts about how to go about doing it?

You want to have two plugs that go to the head unit or just move the front plug to the center console?

I mean, if it were possible to have a second line run to the head unit that would be great, but I am guessing it would not be happy with two in signals....

 

Yeah, I think it's just one source for the head unit.

it’s not true “duplication” since the OEM usb location will just be for charging and not data.
