I have the stock manual mirrors with the ajustment lever (through the door) into the cab style on my 2000 Taco. They are loose as hell and just plain suck. I see tons of Mirrors on ebay for this truck. I would "Like" to replace them with electric Power Mirrors. Has anyone done this yet? I found the stock power mirrors, and the switch for the door. The switch just snapps in the door, and the mirrors/switch have the factory plugs on them.

Sorry if there is already a post on this, I tried a search.....:D

I'm guessing all you need is power to go to the switch and it'll work if you have the assembly for everything.

Hell, there might already be a connector inside the door. Toyota might have just put the same wiring in all trucks then just kept it disconnected if the truck didn't have the feature. At least that would make it easy for you lol.

New Pioneer stereo, and all 4 speakers with Infinity components. Sirius satellite radio. Deckplate mod done. Door buzzer silenced forever thank God, tinted windows, vent visors, hood protector(bug guard), ceramic pads and new rotors, dechromed EVERYTHING. 2" Lift front 3" rear. Skyjacker AAL's and replacement leafs(and front spacers) from Fatbobsgarage.com. Skyjacker 7000 Hydro rear shocks, those Bilstein 5100 fronts are coming soon!
Same issue here, my passengers side is ok, but I find myself constantly readjusting the drivers side... Power mirrors should be standard on ALL vehicles.

Just bumping this thread back up. I'm ready to break down and buy a NEW set of manual mirrors. But, I'd rather get the power ones. Has anyone done this to there truck? I haven't removed my door panels yet to see if there is a plug for it. I guess I'll have to do that and "IF" there is a plug for the switch I'll just get the power mirrors. I've seen the switches for sale on ebay.

    Any help?advice would be appreciated....:D

if the wiring is there, im guessing all you do it take out the manual mirrors and bolt up and plug in the power mirrors.

and since power windows is a pretty popular option, i'd bet that toyota just put the wiring in there on all trucks.

Hey head down to your local Toyota dealer and ask the parts guy to print out a wiring diagram for your year with and without power mirrors. Thats what I always do when I have a question about wiring problems, concerns, or mods.

I just bougth manual replacements. Both sides, shipped, for $50 bucks. I'll save my money for tires. A new set of power mirrors are about $140
