So today about 20 miles away from rolling over 100k miles my check engine light illuminated for the first time. I noticed the truck was idling somewhat rough and seemed down on power. I got home and connected to tech stream and pulled a cylinder 2 misfire code.

I’ve used denso spark plugs every 30k miles so the current set had only 10k on them.

Flip the spark plug over and the electrode moved.

Anyone Ever have this happen before? I’d be less surprised if that had a lot more miles on em. Maybe it was just a faulty plug?
I went with ngk this time and just went ahead and done all 6

I’ve seen it before, I think the ceramic way down in there cracks. Not sure what causes it.

The one I had wasn’t sparking across the gap. It wasn’t loose like yours. I kept testing it trying to figure out why, then I could see it sparking way down inside (the ceramic cave?). New plugs, wires, cap & rotor and it ran perfectly.

Counterfeit plugs? Getting more common these days.

Same here.. I usually buy a lot of oem type stuff off Amazon and eBay such as spark plugs and oil filters.. the only time I ever knew of that I received a counterfeit part was on a set of blox aluminum extended lugnuts for a subaru(I used to think that stuff was cool:rofl::rofl:). Until the threads pulled out of the lugnuts and wheel almost came off.. Called blox and they were indeed counterfeit and told me that I was on my own but they would take legal action against the seller.
