My 2002 4Runner is misfiring whenever there is a lot of moisture in the air, like after a rain. I just replaced one of my coils with an after market. The OEM that came off has a tension clip that maintains the connection between the coil and spark plug tube. I read that putting some RTV or silicone over the joint would seal out moisture and help to maintain solid contact. The after markets don't have the spring clip.
