I just recently purchased a shell off of 5 Mile and the owner said in the description that it came from a 2008 Access cab but ended up being a little too narrow but it's still rests on the side of the bed. Are there any fixes for narrow width?

Cut it in half and widen it? Can’t really fix wrong dimensions.

I mean I'm not complaining but from another users perspective, did I make a poor decision in finding a temporary shell until I could afford the $1,500+ decent ones?

Even with the 6 c-clamps I have securing it down won't do?

As long as this was free.....no nevermind, you can do better.

    I paid $800. I have another $75 invested.

    During

I removed all the windows and sanded it down, then painted it with bedliner paint.

Do you mean regular C clamps, or clamps designed for caps?

awww.... a black 06 with gulf coast wheels... nice

anyway, back to the issue at hand... It'll probably be fine, do you have a picture of the clamps?

The big issue I see is when you go to get rid of it how do you know what to advertise it for. Don't suppose there's any part numbers on it?

Can you take it back and return it or exchange it?

I’d say no. Unless you want it water tight and it leaks.
Other than that, crank it down tight and run it. Just an aesthetic difference at that point

Regular 2" C-clamps until I could order some better ones online, sort of put the cart before the horse on this decision

Unfortunately it was a purchase third party. And the seller didn't accept returns, also he lives about 2 hours southeast of me, fortunately he was willing to meet up halfway so I didn't have to cruise out very far for the exchange.

Looks like it's for a Ford ranger. Is there any brand labels? Usually there's a code on them for truck/ color code.

Well, if you can't move the cap while pushing on it then you should be ok as long as you got a good bite. I would be careful off road. Bouncing around can loosen those types of clamps.

Currently it will be just for on road use. I don't have the off-road capability with this taco.
