I just recieved my new bilstein 6112/5160 kit from headstong as well as deaver u402 expedition pack (300/400 lbs) i was told the rear shocks should be fine, (deaver will add a little over 2 inches with 300lbs +). But then from what i read 2 inches should be max, and the bilstien rep said they were only made for 0-1 inch of lift.

I am thinking of returning just the 5160 for the fox 2.0 resi. For 2-3 inch of lift.

Just want to know tw crew what would you do, and if anyone else has had a similar experience and maybe issues or pros about changing or not changing.

I'm installing 6112/5160s today with dakar leafs intended for a little over 2" of lift.

You won't have serious issues running the set up you have now. The 5160s might not be as long as the fox rears, but unless you're rock crawling/jumping your truck you won't be dropping your rear suspension to max extension anyways. The 5160s are longer extended than the nitrocharger sports, which OME sells to work specifically with the 2.5"+ lift rear dakar leafs.

Hope this helps. Either way you'll be happy, but I had the same dilemma and went with 5160s for the reasons listed above.

please keep me updated, I have a planed install date in sept 6. I had someone from headstrong give me a call and they said something similar, and that I shouldn't worry at all. he mentions things about block lifts and leaf lifts and that eye to eye its different depending on the lift. etc... but I was still concerned.

Look on headstrong's website you can look at the extended and collapse length of the shock yourself, that is why I also decided to use 5160 with wheelers 8 leaf 2" leaf pack , because If Dakar 2.5" work with OME shocks , I will be fine
