Ok understanding that a second gen camper shell would sit higher than it should on a 3rd gen, does anyone have an idea how much higher we are really talking, and what fitment issues I might run into with the tailgate or elsewhere? I have a screaming deal possible ($300) on a 2nd gen LB snugtop shell but I have a 2019 ORLB. Seems like an ok compromise while I save $2.5k for a perfect fitting shell.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I just bought a cap for my reg cab that I thought was for a reg cab. Turns out it’s made for a DCLB or access cab. Well now the cap rubs and squeals like a bitch on the cab and I’m nervous it’s gonna rub off the paint. In short, dont cut corners. Be patient and buy the right one.

Does anyone have pictures of a third gen camper shell on a second gen tacoma? I wasn’t sure if the tailgate would match up?
