Miss my tacoma

Yeah I did the same thing about 12 years ago. I had a 86 4x4 reg. cab yota PU. Lifted and all tricked out. At that time I wonted a 99 dodge ram 4x4. BIG mistake. It too was in the shop more then in my garage. After 2 and the half years I got rid of it and got my tacoma that I have now. And have not looked back!!!

 

Sorry to hear man, I came from a Chevy not too many issues in 12 yrs of owning it. You did have a sweet looking 1st gen.

 

You sold that dcab to get that tahoe?!

Im genuinely curious what your thought process was when you traded in your tacoma

 

I feel ya: sold my 08 for a Silverado... year later back in a Taco you'll be back!

 

I came from a 96 Chevy 1500, lift, 33'' nothing outrageous ..tranny went out at 140k. transfer case shortly after. AC compressor went out before 160k. Replaced all suspension parts, it took a lot of work. The mechanic that rebuilt the tranny said they usually go out before 160k. All of this and 13mpg.. don't miss it at all.

 

well im back in the game, in the process of buying a 86 4runner....got some plans for this thing soon...i know its not a tacoma, but thats next

 

I actually had a 1999 Chevy Tahoe before getting my Taco, and I had many issues with my Tahoe, I had to replace the transmission on it with about 85,000 miles on it, I had to replace numerous alternators, replaced the fuel pump, I was so glad to get out of that piece of shit and get back into a Toyota just like my whole family
