So, I only found out about this frame rust recall randomly this winter by accident. I never received a letter or anything. I have an 06 Tacoma and was guiding some ice fishermen. One of them was giving me compliments on my truck and telling me he wished he had never sold his. He asked me about whether I had the frame done and I had no idea what he was talking about. So, I ask my dealer about it. They tell me I'm too late. I phoned another dealer, they say the same thing.

I've been looking around and tapping around and have found a couple of problem spots, so, I am a bit sketched out. Wondering what options I have, how dangerous is this situation? I really am not in a place financially to be getting rid of my truck, I just need it to last.

If it has an R title you are out of luck, if not then call Toyota directly and talk to them.

Well, I don't think that's the case. I purchased the vehicle in 2008 and imported it to Canada from the states. It had a clean history then, and i've never been in an accident with it or anything so....

If you live in Canada, you might still have some time. I don't remember the details, but the Canadian lawsuit settlement started later than the US settlement. You need to find out what the exact details and deadlines are for the Canadian settlement.

    Found the info.

"The warranty enhanced frame corrosion coverage is offered until the later of 12 years from the date of first use or until July 21, 2019."

Print out the settlement agreement and take it with you to your Canadian dealer.

Just bought an 06. Not sure if frame has been done. Is it too late in the U.S?

Thanks for posting this. Looks like I have until 2022 for my 2010. I've already got the CRC coating and the frame looks fine from the outside at least, but I do want to get it inspected before the warranty runs out.
