I believe you are correct, if you don't have that, then you don't have a transmission cooler.
Hopefully they get you fixed up soon!

Need to confirm that OP's truck was supposed to even have a trans cooler before jumping right into demanding Toyota fix it.

This isn't a simple component to overlook. If the cooler was missed, that means all of the associated brackets, hoses, tubing, fittings into the trans, and hardware also had to be 'missed' during assembly of the truck. That doesnt really pass a sanity check imo.

Like forgetting to install a radiator hose. Truck aint going to run very long without that..

You sure you have what truck you think you do? It's really common to see fakes.
Post a picture on the entire engine bay. Also the first 8 digits of the VIN from the driver door jam (example: 5TFCZ5AN is my configuration code)

I have texted my salesman, he replied back and said you have it. I replied back and said that I absolutely do not have it and sent him a video. The problem is I bought it out of state, I will probably try to get in touch with Toyota

again, go to Toyota’s website and enter the vin so you know exactly what you have so you know who you should be barking at

I have been to Toyota’s website, I didn’t find out anything that I didn’t already know. I will check again to make sure.

Just pin the thermostat when you are towing. It will help keep temps down. :notsure:

I honestly can’t imagine that little cooler does too much anyhow since the trans thermostat doesn’t open until 195*F

edit: I agree that you should have it, somethings fucky. I’d open a case and take it to your local dealer to see what they can do.

The bottom small line coming out of radiator (white arrow, bottom right of photo) is supposed to have a fitting that sends fluid to the cooler next(not back to the trans). Looks like someone completely skipped the transmission cooler part of the tow package.

Under normal non-towing circumstances, I can agree. Though during towing they can definitely go above that quickly.
My 18 with tow package didn't seem to have the external cooler that my 20 has.
    Both had the tow package.
