    IF it was there and was nicked, there will be witness marks from the bolts from the cooler bracket to the rad housing.

    I really hope Toyota makes it right with you, though. And you don't have to resort to a putting in a used (albeit hardly) transmission cooler.

    I have contacted my dealer and they are trying to figure out how this happened. The problem is they are located 450 miles away. I am hopeful this all works out

    Might be extreme, but I'd ask them to deliver a new vehicle to me and come get the old one. The dealer can work with Toyota directly to rectify the issue.

    My hope for you is that this is treated, rightfully, like a warranty issue, and you can take it to your nearest dealership for correction. I really don’t see why that wouldn’t happen.

    If it's only a cooler, they'd just tell you to pound sand. A more realistic request is to allow you to take it to a dealer near you and they figure out the bill between the two dealers.
