Interesting situation here. I just noticed my wheel caps are missing from 2023 TRD off road. Im wondering if the dealer had forgot to put them on a few weeks back for my 20K service.

    Back wheels - completely naked
Front wheels - there is a black circular cap between the lug nuts. Ive never seen this before, do your stock rims have this part???

That cap covers the cv axle nut in the spindle, not attached to the wheel

Call the dealer, but someone could have stolen them in a parking lot or something too…

Thanks @545. Dumb question, but im assuming the rear wheels on tacoma dont have the CV axle, hence why the caps are absent from the rear?

That’s correct, what you are looking at is the end of the axle shaft in the rear

If the Tech forgot to put the wheel caps back on, makes me wonder if they forgot to do anything else.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Unless the dealer balanced your tires no reason the center caps would be removed.

I was surprised these wheel ornaments (as Toyota calls them) are easily pulled off by hand. Every other Toyota truck I've owned, a pry tool and sometimes cursing is required.

It took a few weeks to notice all 4 wheel caps missing?!? Are all the doors still there?

If you just noticed they were probably stolen recently. If not a few weeks after service until you notice all centre cap missing. Man you gotta check out your ride more often than that. Even if they "forgot" to replace the caps you're on your own now. I got into the habit of walking totally oround any vehicle I'm driving and have a quick look before driving. Helps to catch visual damage as well as flat tires.

OP, have you called the dealer to see if they have them? I’m like others they must have been stolen surely if the dealer left them off you would have noticed by now. If it turns out the dealer left them off make yourself a habit to check their work in the future.

Dealers are notorious for losing these.

I noticed that one of my center caps was missing a week after the tires had been rotated at the dealership. I usually walk around the truck every few days to look at the tires and check for problems like a screw or nail protruding from a sidewall. I believe the center cap was either not re-installed or not pushed all the way into the center of the wheel. I had to buy a new center cap.

Since that experience I never leave the dealership without checking that all the caps are installed. If they've changed the oil I open the hood and check that the oil filler cap is installed too!

Probably even more important is to check level on dipstick and that oil looks new.
