Is anyone using the Mitchell 308 pro? It's about twice the $ I would normally spend on a reel (it's around $70).

I recently borrowed a 300 pro from my dad and loved it, now I want the 308 to replace my 22 year old, worn out Quantum Snapshot on my ultralight setup.

Well, if anyone's interested, I went ahead and got the Mitchell 308 pro. Used it a couple times and highly recommend it. Smooth casting, great drag and retrieve.

Pulled in some decent smallmouth and a few white bass.

Does anybody know where I can find the "old style" Mitchells (300, 308, 310ul)? These seem to have disappeared. Best damned design ever, then they discontinued them.

Hope to get lucky at a yard sale, I guess. My old man is still using the Mitchell 308 that his dad got him for a birthday present like 300 years ago.

    Great old reels.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
You can spend a lot more than $70 on a reel haha. That's not too bad, glad to hear you like it.

Yeah, I know. Believe me, I'd love to try one of those high- end ones. For my budget, though, even this one is a bit extravagant. ..

Aren't the new Mitchells made in China? A friend has one, I wasn't impressed.
I still have a couple of old, I think 308's, that are still in pristine condition.

Yup, China. I've been enjoying it so far, seems like a quality reel that meets my needs.
