Using the factory head unit in my 2015 DCLB with the factory front speakers and an Alpine ktp-445 amp. Looking to swap out the rear speakers as they are breaking down on bass heavy songs. Looking into Kicker CS or a Polk 6.5 shallow mount. Will the oem and aftermarket speakers blend together or will one set be noticeably louder than the other?

I would not invest too much money into your rear speakers. They, even amplified, don't add much to the sound as a whole.

The speakers I'm looking at are between $50-$70. Not a huge investment. I've never used either Polk or Kicker before so I don't know how they hold up. Reviews for both are all over the place. Hoping to remove the door panels once and be done with it. It's getting cold out ;)

I put some jbl 2 way 6.5's in my front doors, but then upgraded them to 6x9's and moved the 6.5's to the rear. I could hear the stockers breaking down myself before the swap. I wouldn't put a ton of money in them, but I'd definitely upgrade them based on my experience.

Just installed a set of Polk 6.5 coaxial speakers in the rear of my DC. Seems good so far. Louder than the factory speakers I removed. Cleaner sound. I might have to replace the front too... Dammit. I was hoping to just improve the rear. Now I want the front better too.
