Another senior moment. I changed the oil and filter then realized I mixed brands. When the shelves were nearly empty of oil I bought a 5 qt and single qt of Mobil 1 synthetic for vehicles with over 75,000 miles. They were out of Valvoline synthetic except in qt size. I used the 5 qt container of Valvoline synthetic for vehicles over 75,000 miles I had on the shelf then grabbed the wrong qt bottle so it has one qt of Mobil 1 synthetic for vehicles over 75,000 miles. I put on a Denso oil filter replacing the Microguard oil filter which makes me think the used car dealership I bought it from in Dallas probably used O’REILLY standard oil. Even mixed, this has to be better.
The truck has 163,000 miles. Should I just drive it another 5,000 miles and be more alert the next oil change or change it again?
CarFax shows a good maintenance history since new from Boston to Manhattan to Austin, TX. Now it is in Oklahoma.

I wouldn’t worry. Just drive it normally and have a good Labor Day.

Boston to NYC is going to be worse long term (salt) than combining like materials from different brands. I wouldn't even think twice (and haven't probably) mixing brands of like-weights oils (IE both 0-20)

    I'd let it ride.

It’s fine. Don’t touch that drain plug until 5k miles.

And better yet. Stop reading this thread.
Even more better advice, never ask about oil on the internet.

I was concerned about it coming from that region. I have a nephew that works for Toyota and has been up north investigating frames. He helps write TSBs and recalls. He gave the frame a two thumbs up approval after crawling around under the truck. It does have some minor surface rust in areas. I bought this truck to work getting me back and forth to our farms with an occasional drive across a field or pasture. Then I detail it. Enough Oklahoma red dirt should protect the frame!!
    Thanks for the replies.

Engine oils are designed to be compatible with each other, among all brands. So if you used the correct viscosity with both oils then you won't have a problem. The only downside to mixing oil brands is that the additive packages are usually different, so both additive packages are now diluted somewhat, and you won't receive the *full benefit* of either oil's additive package. Still this won't be a real problem unless you seriously push the engine and the oil *to their limits,* which is where the full additive package is really needed. Run it and don't worry.
