Well the maintenance required light is now flashing when i start my truck. I am at 44,700~ miles now anyways. So i stopped by wal-mart on the way home from school and i saw the Mobil 1 was 24.50, and i saw this 0W-30! I remember reading in the manual the V6 requires 5W-30, so what is this talking about when it says "Warranty protection for 5W-30 & 10W-30 Requirements"?

Can i even use it? And does it really increase fuel economy?

Sorry about the rotated photo. I hate my iPhone..

Yes it's fine, it's still a 30w. I've been using it since my first change @2500 miles, I'm at 35,000 miles with no issues. It really won't help fuel economy much, but it should flow a bit better at cold-start. If nothing else there's no downside to using it.

A cold start is any start when the motor isnt at full operating temp. So your truck could be parked for 6 hrs at the mall when its 100* outside. You start it up...thats a cold start.

I use Amsoil 0w-30 and their filter EA034

I use the mobil 1 0w-30. After doing some research on it. Its actually thicker at operating temp then castrol 10-30. It also lubricates rthe top end of the engine quicker then 5 and 10-30s on cold starts

We can absolutly use 0w30 in our trucks and not worry. Not only not worry, but worry less. BTW I don't use Mobil 1. it's not as good as everyone thinks. (I use group 4 synthetics)

What kind of filter do you use that will let you go 20 k? I would love to change my oil once a year since I only travel about 10k, but I thought the filters needed to be changed in the 7500 mile range.
