    This thread appeared when I did a Google search for tips on changing the oil in my 2006 Tacoma that I've had for 6 months. I'm surprised the OP did not receive any responses.

    If I'm correct that the
    $15 M1-102 / M1-102A Extended Performance Oil Filter
    M1-102 is labeled for my 4.0 Tacoma, it seems the M1-209 is the same filter albeit taller and labeled for the Jeep Liberty. Any reason not to use the 209 on the Tacoma? I'd think more filter element and the more oil held in the filter, the better.
