The Mobil 1 rebate I mentioned earlier in the oil thread is now active. Don't buy from Amazon as they weren't an approved retailer in the past; Wal Mart is fine as are most other stores. The Mobil listing of approved retailers is not complete but I've always bought from WM and no issues. It takes at least a month so don't expect the $ anytime soon.

A warning about the emailed check option that you can print and bring to your bank- they may have issues with this so it's probably better to have it mailed. I did the email option once and it was a bit of a PITA for the bank to cash it but they finally did. I ended up cutting the two sides out and gluing them together so they could run it thru their machine.

Yup last time around i did the Echeck and my bank was like ya nope. Ended up cutting it out and using my banking app to take a pic of it which worked like a charm. Now to wait for walmart's prices to come down to the 22 dollar mark before stocking up.

Yeah I'm not doing that e-mail check thing again. Huge pain. I ended up cutting it up so it looked like a regular check when I took pictures and just did mobile deposit, sounds like you did the exact same thing.

Sears, target and Kmart are the only retailers I recognize.

I will say I got a rebate once from WalMart, then the second time never got one. Different time frames so didn't over do it.

As stated above Walmart works! So since this is good until sept 30th . Relax, shop smart. Walmart will also drop the price to $22.88 in the near future.

It says 5 or more quarts. Does this work for their 5 quart jugs? Looks like 4 rebates per household right?

That's what it looks like. Hard to believe if Wally rolls it back, you could get 5Gals. for 50 bux.

The problem is the e-check looks totally fake and bank thinks you just made it up at home. Which you essentially did. I made mine look like a check as much as possible but they were still skeptical- because it looks fake no matter what :) It will work if you cut it up and paste it together back to back so that they can scan it thru the machine, but I had to explain what it was to even get them to try. Maybe in 5 years it'll be more common and recognized, but for now I won't do it again anytime soon.

The rebate is good on 5 qt jugs or 5X quart bottles. I always buy 5 qt jugs at Wal Mart, no issues, been doing the rebate for 3+ years. When I checkout at WM I have them ring up the oil separately so I can keep that apart from my other purchases. You don't have to do this but it makes it easier for me to remember to not throw away the receipt and might help the rebate people also since the oil is the only item.

They do the rebate yearly around this time but don't seem to advertise it, but search next year in April or May for it as that's when it typically starts. As others have said, in past years it's been 2 rebates max where this year it's 4. So that's great for people with a big fleet. With the rebate, Mobil 1 is much cheaper than name brand conventional oil, so it's a steal.

WM $22.88 is a huge incentive when it drops.

While I do not doubt that Walmart is an approved retailer, I find it interesting they are not on the list. The worlds largest retail operation and they are not on the approved list?
As far as $22 goes...you might not see that as often as in the past. WM jacked up their oil prices a few months ago. Costco hiked their prices as well.

Best of luck to all you bargain hunters.

About to stir the pot here, but I have purchased from Amazon in the past and XOM has accepted my rebate.
