Can you do a shorter trailer and have a framework that you set up on site? That way you'd have a lower center of gravity on the whole system when going over bumpy roads, prevent unnecessary torque on the structural framework. I might have to do a sketch later when I get home, this idea is kinda neat.

I sympathize with where you are coming from. Last trip I took a shower tent, which took up as much space as my regular tent, a 5 gal tote to hold the 28 VDC pump, 25’ garden hose, spray nozzle and 25’ cable hookup to battery, a 5 gal cook pot to heat water on camp stove, a small piece of AstroTurf to stand on and 15 gal of water which if lucky amounted to 4 or 5 quick showers and another 5 gal toilet bucket. Thats a lot of real estate in a short bed. Thought about getting on of those tankless water heaters but figured I would then need a full size propane tank and lose more space. I think to make it worthwhile, I need to camp next to a clean water supply. At 8 lbs per gal, water weight adds up too quickly to carry enough for more than a couple showers.

Shorter means small length, right? So, I don't see issues with length for the original idea in the first post. The only issues I see are: narrow axle and of course speed limit.

I am very curious as to why you went to all that trouble and expense when a Solar shower bag and 5 gallon bucket is the norm.

ABS pipes from HD were not expense for my point of view. I like to design and build things. Tested this setup after summiting mt. Shasta and it was awesome. After two-days climb with night in the tent on a snow in the base camp? It was ready to go shower, I just did couple of miles from trailhead to the woods.

    Don't worry, I can relate.

When I get home after a long trip, I just like to sit on the can and catch up on everything.

I've seen this also as a space saving sink option used in Advanced RV's Sprinter configurations

I cant really talk about space saving. I built my trailer just so I could have a full size shower....
