Would Mobtown employees have to pay income tax in both states?

 

Not sure yet. When I worked in DE I did have to pay tax in both states.

No. How it works is you pay taxes per the state your business is registered in. Then at tax time you file and the state the business is registered in becomes a credit and the state you live in is who you pay.

 

Yea but when I worked at ILC, taxes for both states were taken from my paycheck. The credit only covered a percentage of it at the end of the year. Oh and you have to file taxes in both states.

 

This is true. Our one fabricator lives in the state we are moving too. I’m curious how that’ll play out.

 

I live in NY, work in NJ.

Pay income tax in both states. Really bites.

 

If it becomes a major issue we can move the business to DE. It requires a ton of paperwork that I was trying to avoid.

 

I’ve never agreed with tax laws that they can do that. It literally makes no sense.

 

Did you buy or lease the property in DE?

If you bought it, then you’d pay property tax as well.

If you leased, then you are as smart as you are buff.

I pay property tax in NY and WA. I’m a dumbass.
