Hey @jowybyo while prepping (sanding) my overland sliders i noticed one of the plates is bent. Is this going to affect anything?

It looks like it got damaged in shipping. If you have a 3lb hammer, give it a good whack and you should be able to straighten it back out. Judging by where that bend is at in relation to the bolt holes it looks like it’ll bolt up anyways as-is. It won’t affect the strength at all

Okay that makes sense. Should i use this as an excuse to go buy a brass hammer from harbor freight?

Heck no, these are steel! Get yourself an official BFH, aka big fucking hammer. You’re not gonna hurt it.

Definitely going to want to straighten that up, otherwise it stuff gets between that and the frame it might rust faster. Don't quote me on that tho I'm not a professional.

Also I would straight up use a sledge on that. Personal opinion.

That would be your best bet IMO or even just out it parking lot. That's some pretty thick steel and you're gonna have to really hit it.

It’s gonna be easier to get a pretty big adjustable wrench and use it to bend it back in place. You’d be surprised how easy it is to bend 3/16” steel that way.

My thought exactly. If you have a good sized wrench or a strong clamp, try that.

I do have one of these. If yall dont think that’ll work well I’ll grab a regular larger adjustable wrench from HF

Yea. That could work. Give it a go. Might be easier. You could stand on the hoop and pull up on the pipe wrench. Should work out ok.
