    Alum is nice because they weigh next to nothing. I threw them on our truck alone in less than an hour.

    Curious to know why you have a disclaimer that aluminum is not for offroad use. I would think at 1/4" the aluminum would be pretty stout.

    It's certainly stronger than what comes on the truck but it'll never last on trails where you're truly dragging the underside across rocks. More of a disclaimer than anything. We have 3/16" steel on our third gen and after one trip of hard wheeling they're all sorts of messed up. Did their job but if they were aluminum they wouldn't have survived. Aluminum tears, steel dents.
