Cool, I worked for the Autodesk simulation ( fea, cfd, moldflow and composites) for years. Glad to see simulation being utilized.

 

do you expect the final to be 35lb/side as well? or maybe more? i run light and this is totally awesome.

 

We are going to bump up the wall thickness on the outer round tube to make a more stout product but even with that we expect the installed weight per side to be 40ish pounds. That is down 30 pounds per side from our steel rock slider.

What’s going inbetween the aluminum slider attachment points and the trucks’s steel frame?

 

I'm assuming they bounced back from that deflection? Or you will measure after your 50 lift test to check for permanent bending/deflection?

 

Whatever you coat them in, paint or powder. We don't recommend leaving the contact points between steel and aluminum uncoated because of corrosion.

 

The did after the first cycle. I havent done the 50 cycles yet. I had paperwork that had to get done before noon.

 

Id go with tubular.

 

Oh okay, so the paint is enough to prevent the corrosion. Corrosion from the two metals touching is why i asked. Thank you

I'd paint and then put Mylar tape in between.

Is it possible to put a thin fill plate on the top of these?

 

They'll be an option.

 

Pretty sure we are doing flat only, not angled. Nothing is finalized though.
