I just received my hidden hitch for a 2014 tacoma. I am not sure where two of the provided brackets goes. There is no mention of the four extra brackets i got on the instructions so i am a little confused. Info or pics would be appreciated.

They’re detailed in the instructions on the third gen recovery bar which is the same install. Just haven’t had a chance to fix the second gen instructions

You have to spend a minimum of $500 to get the discount and it doesn’t apply to some items we have on the website. If you buy say this and a skid plate, you’ll get the discount. Bed accessories aren’t included in the sale.

Once you get the bumper and grill off, it’s pretty self explanatory. Remove the plastic from the aluminum crash bar and the aluminum crash bar itself. The hitch takes place of the two aluminum spacers that the bar is bolted to and then the bar bolts to the hitch. The bumper grill will have to be trimmed accordingly to fit back over the hitch. At least on my 2011. 2012 may be a different in how it lines up. I put mine on my 2011 Taco and then modified it to go on my 2017.

Those brackets may have been added to the kits after I got mine. I never had them and never had a problem.

awesome that would be a big help, thank you. And that link does indicate the other brackets were added to the orders later after that failure. this has been a big help.

I cant find anymore of the info on my computer at work and the PDF file is gone or I'm crazy and never had one. It's a pretty easy install if you've got some mechanical experience. Measure 2,3,4x before doing any trimming of the bumper or grill to fit around the hitch if you want it to look nice. I've been super happy with mine and I use it a lot in the winter months winching myself and the buddies out in the snow. If you use it as it's intended, slowly with a winch and not as a tow bar at 60mph in reverse, it will do you well! Good luck with the install.

wow this is such a big help thanks, however, these instructions don't say anything about either of the two different style brackets that came with the recovery bar or any of the additional hardware that came with it. That being said I think I can get it all together with the pictures from this thread.
