    Still amazes me how shitty the support on these tailgates are when the top of the gate is where you stand/sit/load and takes the most force.

    I finished my install of the tailgate skin yesterday. I'm very happy with the results. I also opted to do the stronger hardware kit. Glad I did, but what a PITA to install those inserts. I started out using a 1/2" box wrench and 7/16" socket to compress the threaded inserts, but this method sucks. I spent 2 hours and only got 5 inserts in. I gave up at 10pm on Thursday and decided on day 2 to buy a threaded insert tool from harbor freight for $20. This made the job much easier. Plus the inserts felt more secure with this tool. Very happy with the results. Install took more work than expected. Used my tailgate today moving a motorcycle.

    Great product. Very happy.

    You can , or just check any local hardware store. Using the bolt and nut combination works ... but it's brutal. Might be easier if you have a longer ratchet/wrench than I had.
